Li Jianping, vice president for Sichuan International Studies
University and Liu Hong, deputy director of the foreign affairs
at the university, spent a couple days at the Dickinson State
University campus in November 2002. This was the first time
representatives from the school had actually set foot on
the DSU campus.

Chinese
students, Linbo Zhang, Yi Xu, Jie Long, Hong Wen, and
Man Xu received flowers from their host families during
an appreciation dinner. |
“We’ve had a good impression of everything.
Dickinson is a very good town,” said Jianping. “The
university is very beautiful and the facilities are very
modernized. This is a good place for students to study.”
“The students are happy, they like the flexibility
of being able to study what interest them,” said Hong. “Adding
or withdrawing from classes is not always allowed in the
Chinese university system. This is a good system for developing
the unique talents of each student.”
