Dickinson State University is an institution which values global and ethnic diversity. Today, students from 40 different States and 30 different countries call Dickinson home. At DSU, you will find students from an array of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Dickinson is the perfect “home away from home,” because it is such a welcoming and caring community. Our students enjoy supportive faculty and staff, small student ratios, and the opportunity to be involved in many of the campus and community organizations as well as intercollegiate athletics established at the institution.
The Center for Multicultural Affairs provides academic, social, and transition support for international students and scholars, Native American students, students from historically underrepresented populations, and DSU students studying and living abroad. Our staff works with DSU students, faculty, and staff to expand their awareness of the wider DSU community by developing programs and initiatives in the areas of diversity and multiculturalism. Our mission is to promote exchange and dialogue between people of different countries, ethnic backgrounds, and cultures by supporting the University’s efforts to increase, retain, and support the presence and success of a diverse student body population. The Center for Multicultural Affairs also assists students with the admission process and administers our Global Awareness Tuition Award and Cultural Diversity Tuition Award programs.
It is never easy to leave the comforts of home for the unknown. Know that we are here to help you achieve your every greatest success!
Thy Yang, Director of Multicultural Affairs
