Daniel
Head Coach
Coach Daniel is entering his 10 th season as the head golf
coach at Dickinson State. He is a Dickinson State University
alumni who excelled on the track and basketball floor as a
Blue Hawk. He won the 800-meter at the 1984 NDCAC Outdoor Track
and Field Championships.
Daniel led the Dickinson State Women’s Golf team to
back-to-back NAIA National Meets in 2004 and 2003. The women’s
team won the 2003 and 2002 Region III team title earning automatic
berths in the NAIA national meet. Daniel was named 2003 and
2002 Region III and DAC-10 women’s golf coach of the
year.
Coach Daniel was the head coach of the Blue Hawk men’s
basketball team for 11 seasons. Two of his team’s advanced
to the NAIA National Tournament. His 2000 squad finished the
season in the “Elite Eight” at the national tournament
and the 2001 team made a “Sweet Sixteen” appearance.
He was 151-153 as head basketball coach at Dickinson State.
Daniel earned his bachelor’s degree from Dickinson
State University and his master’s degree from Central
State University in Edmonds, OK. He served as a graduate assistant
at Central State before moving to Northwest Community College
in Powell, WY as an assistant basketball coach. After two seasons
at Northwest, Daniel returned to his alma mater.
Daniel is an assistant professor of health and physical education
and an assistant track and field coach at Dickinson State.
He resides in Dickinson with his wife Kelly and their three
children - Sami, Allison, and Jake.
